Tofino – The End of the Road: The Ride That Changed Everything (Video + Route)

Sometimes a single trip can shift your entire perspective, and for Colin, this ride to Tofino wasn’t just a journey; it was a catalyst. It wasn’t long after this adventure that he packed up, sold almost everything he owned, and moved across the country to British Columbia. The trip started in the tiny coastal town of Port Renfrew, nestled on Vancouver Island’s rugged west coast. Surrounded by endless dirt roads and towering forests, it was the perfect launchpad for an adventure that would inspire a life-altering decision.

From the get-go, the ride had that unmistakable “something special” energy. The trails were challenging, the scenery stunning, and the air thick with possibility (and maybe just a hint of Sasquatch musk). The crew snaked through misty forests, coastal viewpoints, and gravel roads that seemed to stretch into eternity. It was the kind of riding that reminds you why you fell in love with motorcycles in the first place—pure, unfiltered freedom.

Colin, who at the time was still living far from this wild paradise, couldn’t stop marveling at the raw beauty of the island. Every twist in the trail seemed to call to him, whispering, “Why aren’t you here all the time?” And honestly, we were all thinking the same thing. Vancouver Island has a way of getting under your skin—like an itch you can only scratch by riding another kilometer deeper into the wilderness.

When we finally rolled into Tofino, the end of the road quite literally, the sense of accomplishment was electric. The town itself, perched on the edge of the Pacific, felt like a reward. Its wild beaches, roaring surf, and laid-back energy had Colin hooked. It was in this moment that the seed of an idea took root: What if this wasn’t just a destination, but a new beginning?

In hindsight, the signs were there all along. Colin didn’t just ride that trip—he absorbed it. The endless trails, the camaraderie of shared adventure, and the wild beauty of Vancouver Island planted the thought that would eventually grow into a cross-country move. The decision wasn’t just about riding; it was about finding a place that felt like home.

This wasn’t just a trip to the end of the road; it was the start of something bigger. Check out Tofino – The End of the Road on Ragged Roads Moto’s YouTube channel to see the adventure for yourself. And if you happen to spot a Sasquatch along the way, make sure to tell him Colin says thanks—after all, it was their stomping grounds that inspired the whole thing.
